The face is printed in red on a cream paper ground, with a decorative guilloche border of repeating foliate and heart motifs at all four sides and corner ornaments. At left, a circular vignette reproduces the French 2 Francs coin showing the Sower reverse with the legend LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ; at right, a second coin vignette shows the Sower obverse with REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. The denomination DEUX FRANCS is set in large letterpress type at centre, beneath the issuing authority inscriptions in two lines, with manuscript serial number and two handwritten signatures below the titles Le Trésorier-Payeur and Le Lt-Gouverneur. |
