Obverse description	The face is printed in red on a cream paper ground, with a decorative guilloche border of repeating foliate and heart motifs at all four sides and corner ornaments. At left, a circular vignette reproduces the French 2 Francs coin showing the Sower reverse with the legend LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ; at right, a second coin vignette shows the Sower obverse with REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. The denomination DEUX FRANCS is set in large letterpress type at centre, beneath the issuing authority inscriptions in two lines, with manuscript serial number and two handwritten signatures below the titles Le Trésorier-Payeur and Le Lt-Gouverneur.

Reverse description	The reverse is printed in black on plain cream paper within a rectangular border of repeating diamond and floral ornaments. Two large numeral '2' vignettes in circles occupy the upper left and right corners. The central field is filled with the text of an extract from the decree of 11 February 1917 authorising the issue of bons de caisse in French West Africa, comprising Articles 3 and 4, printed in italic letterpress. A closing declaration in bold type reads CE BON DE CAISSE A COURS FORCÉ DANS TOUTE LA COLONIE, with the printer's imprint at the lower right.
