Reverse description The reverse is printed in black on plain cream paper within a rectangular border of repeating diamond and floral ornaments. Two large numeral '2' vignettes in circles occupy the upper left and right corners. The central field is filled with the text of an extract from the decree of 11 February 1917 authorising the issue of bons de caisse in French West Africa, comprising Articles 3 and 4, printed in italic letterpress. A closing declaration in bold type reads CE BON DE CAISSE A COURS FORCÉ DANS TOUTE LA COLONIE, with the printer's imprint at the lower right.
