The arrangement of the date — either AH 1208 or AH 1209 — is distributed in the field around the central boss, with small pellets or ornaments filling the interstices. The outer border follows the same rope or beaded design as the obverse, consistent with the hammered coinage tradition of the Tetouan mint under the Alawi sultans. |
