Obverse description Crude Arabic legend occupying the central field within a circular border of rope or pellet design. The inscription reads 'ضب تطوان' (struck in Tetouan), rendered in the informal Maghrebi script typical of late 18th-century Moroccan hammered coinage. The lettering is bold and irregularly arranged, reflecting the hand-struck nature of the flan. The overall style is characteristic of provincial Alawi mint production under Sultan Moulay Sulayman.

Reverse description Central raised boss or pellet surrounded by an annular wreath or looped decorative border, with Arabic date numerals disposed around the inner ring. The arrangement of the date — either AH 1208 or AH 1209 — is distributed in the field around the central boss, with small pellets or ornaments filling the interstices. The outer border follows the same rope or beaded design as the obverse, consistent with the hammered coinage tradition of the Tetouan mint under the Alawi sultans.
