| Beschrijving voorzijde | The central field features a stylised composition in which seven staircases, each representing one of Andorra's seven parishes, rise in the form of mountain peaks converging toward a valley. The staircases simultaneously form the branches of a tree, symbolising humankind, from which 30 leaves emerge to represent the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The legend arcs around the upper and lower portions of the inner disc, reading '70 ANYS DE LA DECLARACIÓ UNIVERSAL DELS DRETS HUMANS' with 'ANDORRA' and the date '2018' also inscribed. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union flag in relief. |

Andorra joined the eurozone through a Monetary Agreement with the EU that only came into force in April 2012, making it one of the last European microstates to formalize the arrangement. The country had no prior indigenous coinage tradition of its own for general circulation — coins issued under the Bishops of Urgell and the Counts of Foix were largely ceremonial. This 2018 commemorative marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in Paris.
