| 背面描述 | The reverse, designed by Luc Luycx, depicts a geographic representation of the European continent rendered without national borders, evoking the unity of the European Union. The face value 2 EURO is inscribed to the left of the map in the field, accompanied by the designer's initials LL. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union, consistent with the standard reverse design used across the eurozone for 2 Euro coins. |

The 2007 Treaty of Rome commemorative marked the fiftieth anniversary of the 1957 treaty that established the European Economic Community — signed in Rome by the original six member states: West Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. All eurozone countries issued a common reverse design that year, one of the few instances where participating nations struck an identical commemorative face, differing only in their national obverse.
Germany produced five mint mark varieties (A, D, F, G, J), one for each active facility.
