| Opis awersu | The nickel-brass centre features the heraldic coat of arms of the Latvian historical region of Sēlija, depicting a walking stag with an elaborate mane and branching antlers, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. Sēlija is the least documented of Latvia's four historical regions, its medieval Selonian tribes absorbed and largely erased by the Livonian Order during the 13th-century Northern Crusades. This coin completes the four-coin series that Latvijas Banka began in 2016 with Vidzeme, each issue honoring one of the ethnographic regions that collectively form the cultural foundation of the Latvian state.
