| Reverse description | A large stylised numeral '2' dominates the central field, formed by a sweeping curved line overlaid upon an outline map of the member states of the European Union. Twelve five-pointed stars encircle the design along the periphery, referencing the flag of the European Union. To the right of the map, the Euro symbol '€' appears above the inscription 'EURO', with 'ISLE OF WIGHT' lettered in smaller characters immediately below. The composition is bold and graphic in style, emphasising the theme of European monetary union. |

| Additional information |
The Isle of Wight is not a sovereign state and has never had authority to issue legal tender currency. This piece is a fantasy strike — a privately produced token made to resemble the Euro coinage introduced across the eurozone in 1999, to which neither the Isle of Wight nor the United Kingdom belonged. The UK opted out of the single currency at Maastricht, a position that held until Brexit rendered the question permanently moot.
The X# prefix in the reference confirms non-standard status in the Krause catalog system.
