To the right, a revised cartographic representation of Europe — the so-called second map design introduced in 2007, depicting the European Union in its expanded configuration including Eastern European member states — is shown in relief against a stippled background. The word 'EURO' is inscribed horizontally across the lower centre of the map, with the engraver's initials 'LL' (Luc Luycx) visible at the lower right of the inner disk.
