| Obverse description | The inner disk features the common European Union flag design, issued to mark the 30th anniversary of the EU flag (1985–2015), depicting the flag rendered in stylized relief with dynamic, wind-swept folds emanating from a central rectangular field of parallel engraved lines. The design was created by Geórgios Stamatópoulos and is shared across all eurozone member states for this commemorative issue. The country name 'LËTZEBUERG' appears as a legend along the upper arc of the inner disk, with the anniversary dates '1985–2015' inscribed vertically along the right side. The engraver's initials 'ΓΣ' are present in the field. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union. |
