| Beschrijving voorzijde | The inner disc features twelve five-pointed stars that stylistically transform into human figures with outstretched arms, symbolising unity and the embrace of a shared European identity. The design, executed in a modern allegorical style by Georgios Stamatopoulos, conveys the founding ideals of the European Union. The inscription 'LIETUVA' (Lithuania) and the commemorative date range '1985–2015' appear in a semicircular legend at the upper right of the inner disc, accompanied by the Lithuanian Mint mark 'LMK'. The artist's initials 'ΓΣ' are incused at the lower right of the inner disc. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union in high relief. |
