| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse depicts the European Union flag rendered as a waving banner suspended from a flagpole, with twelve five-pointed stars arranged in a circle at its centre, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the flag's adoption. The design, engraved by Georgios Stamatopoulos, fills the inner bimetallic centre with a dynamic, stylised representation of the flag in motion.
