The designer's initials 'A.H.' appear discreetly between the ship and the Eurotower in the field. The country name 'ÉIRE' is inscribed along the upper arc of the inner disc, with the commemorative dates '2002–2012' along the lower arc, and the euro symbol '€' also appears within the design.
