| Beschrijving keerzijde | The common €2 reverse, designed by Luc Luycx, depicts a relief map of the European continent extending beyond the coin's inner disc, rendered without internal national borders to convey European unity. The face value 2 EURO is inscribed to the left of the map, with the designer's initials LL visible in the lower right field of the inner disc. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union. |

Issued to mark the tenth anniversary of euro banknotes and coins entering circulation across the eurozone on 1 January 2002, this commemorative was a coordinated release — every EU member state issuing €2 commemoratives that year produced the same reverse design, making it one of the few genuinely pan-European common issues in the series. Slovakia's participation was notably recent: the country only adopted the euro in 2009, meaning it was commemorating an event it had no part in at the time of the original cash introduction.
