| 背面描述 | The reverse features the commemorative inscription DE DRIE KOORN BLOEMEN and the founding date 1770, referencing the historic windmill complex known as 'The Three Corn Flowers' in Schiedam. The central motif depicts a memorial stone combined with the large toothed spurwheel characteristic of a traditional Dutch grain windmill, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The design celebrates the heritage of Schiedam's milling industry, presented in a clean, emblematic numismatic style. |

Schiedam's "3 Koornbloemen" distillery was one of the last survivors of a jenever industry that once defined the city — at its 19th-century peak, Schiedam operated over 400 distilleries, making it the gin capital of the world by volume. This 2½ euro piece was issued under the Dutch municipal coin program that briefly allowed cities to produce legal-tender collector issues tied to local heritage, a short-lived experiment that ended before the euro changeover rendered the entire series obsolete.
