| Opis awersu | The obverse design is divided into two halves: the left half features the large numeral '2' with the date 1998 inscribed to its left and the arms of Schiedam — a crowned shield — depicted below, with the legend SCHIEDAM running vertically along the lower left rim. The right half presents a detailed rendering of two of Schiedam's iconic tall grain windmills, with the denomination '½ EURO' inscribed across the mill tower in the field.
