Issued to mark the 200th anniversary of the Grand Duchy's independence, this commemorative pairs Henri I — who became Grand Duke under the 1815 Congress of Vienna settlement — with Guillaume II of the Netherlands, who held the Luxembourg title simultaneously as a personal union. The hologram variant was produced in limited numbers alongside the standard circulating issue, a practice Luxembourg has used selectively since the early 2000s to generate collector revenue without issuing a separate proof series.
