| Description de l’avers | Central Jerusalem cross with flared terminals dividing the field into four quarters, each containing alternating castles of Castile and lions of León arranged in the traditional heraldic pattern of the Spanish Crown. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the partial royal legend C • II D • G • HISPANIARVM visible around the periphery. The cross arms are bold and well-defined, characteristic of the cob (macuquina) coinage style of the Lima mint. The irregularly shaped flan, typical of hammered cob coinage, results in portions of the legend and design being partially visible. |
