| Reverse description | Central shield bearing the crowned arms of the city of Elbing, flanked by two ornate supporters in the form of wildmen or heraldic figures, all set within an elaborate baroque cartouche. Above the shield a bishop's mitre or civic crown is depicted, consistent with Elbing's civic heraldic tradition. The circular Latin legend MON. NOV. AV. CIVIT. ELBINGENS. runs along the periphery, identifying this as a new gold coinage of the city of Elbing. |
