| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a large crowned oval shield bearing the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Münster with central inescutcheon, flanked by two rampant lion supporters on either side. A princely crown surmounts the shield at the top of the design. The Latin legend encircles the composition, reading FERD ELECT COL EPS MONA BA DVX, referencing Ferdinand of Bavaria as Elector, Bishop of Cologne, Bishop of Münster, and Duke of Bavaria. The entire design is set within the characteristic square klippe format with a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | A four-line Latin inscription reading DUCATVS NOVVS EPI MONAST with the date 1647 in the final line, all enclosed within an elegant laurel and olive wreath tied at the base with a decorative bow. A small ornamental floral or grotesque mask device appears at the apex of the wreath above the inscription. The field is plain and unadorned, focusing attention on the bold Roman lettering. The composition is framed by the beaded border of the square klippe flan. |
