| 裏面の説明 | The reverse field bears a bold four-line devotional inscription in Latin capital letters, centrally placed and reading VNICA SPES MEA CHRISTVS (My only hope is Christ), with the date 1541 appearing on the fourth line, reflecting Christian III's strong Lutheran faith. The inscription is surrounded by a wreath border, rendered in the rough but expressive manner characteristic of hammered Renaissance gold coinage. The flan is irregular, and the surface shows the typical flow lines of hand-struck gold. |

Christian III's 1541 ducat issue followed directly from his consolidation of Lutheran rule in Denmark — he had defeated the Catholic opposition in the Count's War only six years earlier, imprisoned the bishops, and formally established Lutheranism as the state religion in 1536. The royal mint at this period operated under significant pressure to produce prestige gold coinage befitting a king who was actively courting Protestant alliances across northern Europe.
Hede 10 is among the rarer of the Christian III ducat types. Survivors in any meaningful grade are infrequently encountered at auction.
