| Reverse description | The entire reverse field is occupied by a nine-line dedicatory Latin inscription in bold Roman capitals, surmounted by a small ornamental cross motif at the top of the field. The text honors Duke August Wilhelm of Brunswick and Lüneburg on the occasion of his 69th birthday celebrated on 8 March 1730, hailing him as the Nestor of the Guelphs and Father of the Fatherland, with the pious dedication concluding with the initials I.G.S. The coin's milled border frames the inscription closely, with no subsidiary design elements, lending the reverse a solemn, dedicatory character befitting a commemorative birthday issue. |
