| Beschrijving keerzijde | The quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Bavaria occupies the central field, displaying the Bavarian lozengy arms (fusily bendwise azure and argent) alongside the Rhenish Palatinate lion, the Wittelsbacher lion, and additional heraldic quarterings representing the duke's territorial claims. The shield is rendered in fine engraved detail and is enclosed within a twisted rope inner border. The surrounding legend, divided by the date 15·65, reads NON · NOB : DO : N : NO · SED · NOM : T : D : GLOR, an abbreviated form of the Psalm verse Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam (Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Thy name give glory). |

Albert V ruled Bavaria through a period of intense confessional tension, and his gold coinage of the 1560s was minted partly to finance the cultural apparatus — libraries, court musicians, the Kunstkammer — that he deployed as instruments of Counter-Reformation prestige. The multi-year span of this issue reflects continuous production rather than a single die run, though Hahn distinguishes at least minor varieties across the sequence.
