| Reverse description | The full coat of arms of the Cretan State occupies the central field, depicting the Greek royal shield charged with a cross, supported by two figures and surmounted by a royal crown, the whole set beneath a draped mantle topped by a second crown. The legend ΚΡΗΤΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 2 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ is inscribed in the lower exergue. The heraldic composition is rendered in fine detail consistent with the medallic engraving tradition of the Monnaie de Paris. |
