| Obverse description | Draped bust of Honoré II, Prince of Monaco, facing right, with long flowing hair. The effigy is rendered in the baroque portrait style characteristic of mid-17th century hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust within a beaded inner border. The portrait displays considerable relief typical of hammered gold coinage of this period. |

| Obverse lettering | HONORATUS II D G PRINCEPS MONOECI (Translation: Honoré II by the grace of God prince of Monaco.) |
| Reverse description | Four crowned interlaced H monograms arranged in cruciform, forming a symmetrical cross pattern at the centre of the field, with fleurs-de-lis occupying each of the four angles between the arms of the cross. A small ornamental device appears at the centre of the composition. The date appears within the surrounding circular Latin legend, which is enclosed by a beaded border. The overall design reflects the heraldic style common to Italian and Monégasque gold coinage of the mid-17th century. |
