Aanvullende informatie

Belize's dollar coinage traces directly to the Eastern Caribbean dollar system it abandoned at independence in 1981, when the new Central Bank pegged the Belizean dollar to the USD at a fixed rate of 2:1 — a peg that has held without adjustment for over four decades, one of the longer-running fixed exchange arrangements in the Western Hemisphere.
