| 表面の説明 | Truncated effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing left, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the left portion of the rectangular field. To the upper right, the legend SOLOMON ISLANDS appears in bold capitals, below which the denomination $2 is prominently rendered in large numerals. A horizontal rule separates the denomination from the inscription 1/2 oz FINE SILVER 999 below. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the portrait, and the LEV mint mark is displayed within a diamond cartouche at lower right. |

Part of a broad "Cities of the World" bullion-adjacent series issued through the New Zealand Mint on behalf of Solomon Islands, these coins have no functional monetary relationship to the issuing territory — the $2 face value is purely nominal, chosen to satisfy legal tender requirements while keeping the denomination low enough to avoid confusion with circulating coinage. Istanbul was selected alongside other historically layered cities partly for its cross-continental appeal in the collector market, particularly in Europe and the Middle East.
