| Opis rewersu | A solitary polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is depicted in the aluminium bronze centre, striding purposefully to the right across an ice floe, its powerful musculature rendered in bold relief with detailed claw work visible on the extended foreleg. A suggestion of icy water and fractured ice is indicated at lower right, conveying the animal's Arctic habitat. The engraver's initials BT appear in the lower field of the centre. The black nickel outer ring bears the legend CANADA to the left and 2 DOLLARS to the right, with the numeral 2 flanked by two incuse maple leaf devices at the base. |
