The scene depicts the elderly, bearded figure of Noah reclining in a semi-recumbent position in the lower left, his body unclothed and exposed in his intoxicated state, with a wine jug and bowl at his side. Three youthful male figures — his sons — stand and gesticulate around him, two of them draping a garment to cover him. The composition is set within a reeded rectangular inner border against a milled gold outer frame, faithfully reproducing the Renaissance masterwork in vivid polychrome color printing. |
