Niue has operated as a prolific licensed issuer for commemorative coinage since the 1990s, its numismatic program generating far more revenue than the island's GDP from fishing and agriculture combined. The Concorde subject here is well-trodden territory for novelty silver — Air France Flight 4590 crashed in July 2000, grounding the entire fleet, and British Airways made the final commercial Concorde flight in October 2003.
