| Obverse description | The obverse is divided diagonally into two contrasting fields: the upper half features a mirror-polished black field against which the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears in high relief, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper right, and NIUE ISLAND along the upper left. The lower half displays a matte frosted field with a stylised dove in silhouette to the left, with a second finely detailed dove in flight to the right. The denomination 2 DOLLARS and the date 2018 are inscribed in the lower field, with the fineness mark AG 999 at the lower left and the Czech Mint privy mark at the lower right. |
