| 裏面の説明 | Central field features a colourized depiction of a Tanoa, the traditional large deep wooden kava bowl used in the Fijian Sevusevu ceremony for the formal presentation of Yaqona (kava). A fiber cord adorned with cowrie shells, traditionally directed toward the guest of honour, is shown extending from the bowl. The denomination $2 appears above the bowl and the inscription TANOA is placed below, both in the field. The Tanoa motif has historical precedent in Fijian coinage, having appeared on the first 1 cent coins issued for the territory. |
