Reverse description The bimetallic center depicts a stylized rendering of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa, showing the sarcophagus flanked by silhouetted honour-guard figures in relief against a horizontal architectural backdrop. A large colourized red poppy with a black center is prominently applied in the lower portion of the inner disk, serving as the focal commemorative element. In the upper segment of the outer ring, fine vertical line engraving evokes a Stone of Remembrance or architectural frieze. The bilingual legends TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER to the left and LA TOMBE DU SOLDAT INCONNU to the right arc along the outer ring, with CANADA to the lower left, DOLLARS to the lower right, and the denomination numeral 2 at the base flanked by two maple leaf privy marks. The engraver's initials WL appear in the field to the lower right of the central design.
