Aanvullende informatie

Mohammed VI had been on the throne for just three years when this issue was struck, having inherited power following the death of Hassan II in July 1999. The transition prompted a modest redesign program across Moroccan coinage — not a complete overhaul, but enough to establish the new reign's visual identity before the 2002 dated series entered circulation.

The copper-nickel alloy used here was already well-established in Moroccan fractional coinage by this point, having replaced bimetallic and aluminum-bronze options in earlier decades as the dirham system stabilized post-decimilization in 1974.
