Anushirwan Khan was the last Ilkhanid claimant propped up by the Chupanid amir Malik Ashraf after the main Ilkhanate had already collapsed in practice. By 1347 the fiction of an Ilkhanid ruler was barely maintained — Malik Ashraf held real power in Azerbaijan and effectively used Anushirwan as a legitimizing name on coinage while conducting independent foreign policy. The Bazar mint served the commercial traffic of the region during a period of acute political fragmentation across the former Mongol west.
The SICA 9 reference places this among a tightly catalogued group. Anushirwan was deposed and killed by Malik Ashraf in 1356, ending both the puppet reign and the Chupanid line within a few years of each other.
