Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in stylized Naskh script, contained within a plain or lightly decorated border. The legend references the Shahada or titles of the Ilkhanid ruler Taghay Timur, arranged in horizontal registers. The striking is characteristic of late Ilkhanid hammered silver coinage, with slightly irregular flan and bold raised lettering. Peripheral inscriptions or floral ornaments may appear in the marginal area surrounding the central text panel.
