Beschrijving voorzijde The Serbian state coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a crowned double-headed eagle bearing an inescutcheon charged with a cross and four firesteels (ocila). The achievement is surmounted by a royal crown with curved lower outline at its apex and flanked by two mace-bearing supporters draped in ermine-lined mantles. The circular legend reads in Cyrillic and Latin scripts around the periphery, with the issuer's initials НБС-NBS inscribed along the lower arc.

Aanvullende informatie

Serbia reintroduced the dinar as its sole currency in 2003 following the dissolution of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, retiring the Yugoslav dinar that had carried the country through the turbulent 1990s and its associated hyperinflation. The 2006 issue marked a further consolidation of national monetary identity after the formal separation from Montenegro that same year. The non-magnetic nickel brass composition distinguishes this type from later issues and matters practically for vending machine calibration — a detail that prompted the eventual transition to a reformulated alloy.
