Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse is printed in black on light paper with a red-orange underprint. To the left, an intaglio vignette presents a bust portrait of Christopher Columbus in left profile. The centre of the note carries a large guilloche rosette enclosing the numeral '2', flanked by the denomination text 'DOS COLONES' below. To the right, the national coat of arms of Costa Rica appears within a circular cartouche.
