Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a six-pointed star, with flowing curled hair cascading to the neck truncation. The portrait occupies the majority of the field, rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail characteristic of American pattern coinage. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs around the upper periphery, with a small 'E' mint initial positioned at the base below the truncation. The coin exhibits a fine milled denticle border.
