Obverse description Cast iron cash coin of standard Northern Song form, featuring a central square hole (穿) flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in the traditional reading order — top, bottom, right, left — in Regular script (楷书). The four-character reign title inscription 宣和通寶 (Xuanhe Tongbao) occupies the four cardinal positions within a broad, plain inner rim. The field is flat and largely featureless, with a raised outer rim encircling the entire obverse. The overall style is characteristic of the Huizong reign period iron coinage, with well-formed, upright characters in the kaishu tradition.
