Obverse description Central field depicts the royal conch shell (shankha) of Travancore, a sacred dynastic emblem, rendered in relief above a Malayalam numeral legend. Below the conch, the Malayalam numeral inscription '൯൯൧' appears in the lower field, indicating the Malayalam Era date. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's periphery. The strike is characteristic of hammered coinage, resulting in slightly irregular flan shape and variable relief. The overall style reflects the indigenous artistic tradition of the Travancore mint during the early nineteenth century.
