| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a finely engraved left-facing bareheaded bust of Simón Bolívar, the Liberator of South America, with naturalistic rendering of his curly hair and strong classical features in the neoclassical style characteristic of engraver Albert Barre. The legend BOLÍVAR is inscribed to the left of the bust and LIBERTADOR arcs along the right periphery. The engraver's name BARRE appears in small capitals at the base of the truncation near the lower rim. The field is otherwise plain, allowing the portrait to dominate, and the design is bounded by a continuous beaded border. |
