The shield is surmounted by a cornucopia and flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm frond to the right, with a ribbon below bearing the national motto. The circular legend reads ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA, separated by five-pointed stars, while the lower arc bears the weight specification GRAM.10, the date 1945, and the fineness LEY 835, also separated by stars.
