| Reverse description | A large, detailed effigy of a turkey stands in profile facing left, its body rendered across both the copper-plated steel centre and the nickel-plated steel ring, with fine engraving highlighting plumage and feather texture. The date 2011 is inscribed at the top of the field within the ring. The Dutch-language denomination legend TWEE EN EEN HALVE DOLLAR curves along the lower portion of the ring. |

Saba adopted the US dollar as its official currency in 2011 when the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved and the island became a special municipality of the Netherlands. These bimetallic pieces were issued by the island itself as local coinage distinct from standard Dutch Caribbean circulation, though the US dollar remained the functional transactional currency — leaving coins like this one with limited practical circulation from the outset.
