| Obverse description | Dark green typeset Notgeld on white paper, framed by a dense guilloche border with a lighter green underprint. A central oval vignette contains the arms of Karlsruhe — a diagonal-striped shield — surrounded by ornate scrollwork. The denomination "Zwei Millionen Mark" is set in large Gothic blackletter script across the lower half, with the numeral "2.000.000" repeated in the upper corners. Below the vignette, a two-line text panel states the conditions of acceptance, followed by the issue date "Karlsruhe, im August 1923," a serial number prefixed "No", and the manuscript signature of Der Stadtrat. A dry-stamp validation notice appears at lower right. |
