| 表面の説明 | Raised circular device depicting a shield-like motif decorated with a central pellet surrounded by three curved linear segments, each containing pellets, arranged symmetrically within the field. The design is rendered in low relief in the archaic style characteristic of early Ionian electrum coinage. The surface is plain and unlettered, with no legend or exergual inscription. The flan is irregularly rounded with a slightly granular edge typical of early hammered electrum issues. |

Electrum staters and their fractions from early Ionia represent some of the first coinage struck anywhere — the precise issuing authority for many of these small divisions remains unresolved after two centuries of scholarship. The BMC and SNG references group them as uncertain Ionian on the basis of fabric and find-spot evidence rather than any explicit civic identifier.
At one-eighth of a stater, this denomination was among the smallest practical units in daily exchange, roughly equivalent to a day's subsistence wage by some ancient estimates.
