| Obverse description | The upper portion carries a decorative calligraphic header reading 'One Shilling and Six Pence' with '1S6' at right, enclosed within an ornate letterpress border, with the denomination 'Eighteen PENCE' printed in red ink at the top. The authorizing text in mixed roman and italic typefaces cites the Colony of New-Jersey and the reign of King George the Third, dated March 25, 1776. At lower left, a red-ink vignette of the New Jersey Coat of Arms shows two heraldic supporters flanking a crowned shield, with two manuscript signatures appearing to the right. |

| Obverse lettering | Eighteen PENCE THIS Bill of ONE SHILLING and SIX-PENCE Proclamation, is emitted by a Law of the Colony of New-Jersey, passed in the Fourteenth Year of the Reign of his Majesty King George the Third. Dated March 25, 1776. Eighteen pence. |
| Reverse description | The entire reverse is occupied by a nature-print vignette of a botanical leaf, produced by pressing an actual plant specimen directly onto the printing plate, rendering the leaf's unique venation pattern in fine letterpress impression as a counterfeit-deterrence device. Below the leaf vignette, typeset lettering carries the denomination, the printer's imprint, and a stark warning against forgery. |
