| Obverse description | Central field displays the archiepiscopal coat of arms, featuring a cross prominent within the shield. The arms are surmounted by a cardinal's galero — the wide-brimmed ecclesiastical hat with pendant tessellated strings — denoting the archbishop's rank. Behind the shield, a sword and a crosier are crossed in saltire, symbolising both temporal and spiritual authority. The encircling legend in Latin abbreviation identifies the issuing prelate and his titles. The overall composition is executed in the baroque heraldic style characteristic of Salzburg ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
