Obverse description Diademed and veiled head of Queen Philistis facing left, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with exceptional portraiture. The hair is elaborately dressed beneath a royal diadem, with a heavy veil drawn closely over the head and falling in deeply incised folds across the neck and shoulder. The facial features are idealized yet individualized, with a refined profile typical of Syracusan coinage of the late Hieronian period. The field is plain, with no inscription on the obverse.
